Through Harper’s Eyes

I Love Where I Live

Hello, my name is Harper Hancock, and I am 10 years old. I go to Everglades City School, which is one of the only schools in Florida that is K-12. I live on Chokoloskee Island. A couple of facts about my family are that my dad is a firefighter for Greater Naples, my sister is special needs with autism and epilepsy, and my mom is the best mom ever.

Everglades is a very interesting place to visit because it is the Stone Crab Capital. We are a tourist hotspot in February because of the Seafood Festival, and also because of the Ten Thousand Islands, where you can find a variety of different animals such as the dolphin, great blue heron, Roseate spoonbill, and my personal favorite, the manatee. All in all, the Everglades is a great place to visit.
